Destination: INCREDIBLE INDIA (Part 3)

PLACES TO SEE IN JAIPUR (CONT):
*photo heavy*

CHOKHI DHANI
Chokhi Dhani Village is a fun-fair place where it represents the Rajasthani culture. This place was about 1 hour away from the city. Opens at 6:30pm and closes at 11:00pm. Entrance fee was 350 which includes authentic Rajasthani food. For more info click this http://www.chokhidhani.com/village/index.html

This was me buying shoes for everyone as pasalubongs. You may haggle the price with the vendor. I also bought a bottle of pure lavender perfume from another seller.

There were acrobatic shows, magic shows, fortune readers, camel rides, elephant rides, puppet shops you can see and do inside the village.

Man-pushed ferris wheel, very ingenious.

Communal feasting with other travelers.

We were served four different sauces, four different kinds of breads, and curried veggies.
You should DEFINITELY go to Chokhi Dhani!

HAWA MAHAL or PALACE OF THE WINDS
This palace opens at 9:00am and closes at 4:30pm. We did not know this important information so we got there around 5:00pm. We had to go back the next day.

This was the view inside.

ALBERT HALL AND MUSEUM
The driver stopped a block away for us to be able to take a good picture with the entire museum.

 Entrance fee was INR 150.

NEHRU BAZAR (it was spelled like that)
This was me purchasing a lot of pure cashmere shawls for my siblings and aunts. I noticed all the sellers in all the shops were men. Even the shops which sells lingerie were sold by men. When we asked this shop keeper, he told us all the women were just at home cooking. Women were not allowed to go outside. If they have to, they should be accompanied by their mothers or aunts, or else they will be looked at as unpleasant women.

Hotel Umaid Bhawan, the hotel we stayed at in Jaipur. A very nice and not too expensive hotel. It is also recognized as a heritage home. http://www.umaidbhawan.com/

Our train (Ajmer Shtbdi # 12016) from Jaipur going to New Delhi. We booked the First AC (1A) seats. They kept on feeding us meals during the 3 hours and 40 minutes ride. We paid INR76.36 each. Good train.

PLACES TO SEE IN DELHI:

HUMAYUN'S TOMB
We wore a different kind of beautiful printed sari for touring.

LOTUS TEMPLE

INDIA GATE
Lyn eating waterballs again.

AKSHARDHAM
I did not take this picture, this was from the mini CD they will give you along with your ticket. Cameras and bags were not allowed when entering this temple. You will also walk barefoot from the entrance to this temple which was about 20 minutes away so I suggest to bring extra thick socks because the heat from the brick path will scorch you feet.

This was one of the most beautiful temples I have ever seen in my entire life. In my opinion you may even miss the Taj Mahal but you cannot not see this place. Entrance fee was INR 250.

RAJ GHAT or MAHATMA GANDHI SAMADHI

LAKSHI TEMPLE
Again, you cannot take photos inside this temple. They will x-ray scan your bag. When we asked our driver Bobby for reason, he said the Muslims and Buddhist has a dissension. Few years ago, a Buddhist temple was bombed and people speculated it was the Muslims who did that.

QUTUB MINAR

THE END.

Have A Lovely Day!
