Lau Tsin Chuen Fa Nio Ro Tien, Taipei

Happy Friday my readers! Thank goodness the sun is up and shining! Hope everyone is alright after the heavy raining that has happened over the past few days.

So, on our 4th day in Taipei, we had brunch at this beef soup place called Lau Tsin Chuen Fa Nio Ro Tien ( according to companion ) because they know I love beef and I love soup.

The restaurant looks very modest. Nothing fancy. Just steel folding chairs and tables. Even the servers whom I presume are also the owners, were all wearing house slippers and pambahay clothes.

Going to our table, we passed by vats of boiling beef soup. All parts of beef can be seen from the tongue to tripe ( stomach ) to tail.

The freshest ingredients can be seen laying around on plastic baskets. To OC people like me, I would not agree on this kind of storage but come to think of it, not a single fly or ant was seen there.

If you can read Chinese, here is the menu!

As for those who cannot read like me ( I would like to say sorry to my past SJCS Chinese teachers! ) I just sat down and waited to be fed. They ordered a plate of  boiled different parts of beef. This dish reminds me of the beef plate I usually order at Mr Poon Restaurant in Malate.

A humble beef noodle soup for them.

A bowl of unpretentious beef soup for me. The broth was absolutely delicious! The reason is they boil fruits with the soup. The fruits, maybe pears or apples are boiled till they all melt with the soup. YUMMY!

A plate of sauteed water spinach. This was definitely the most simple but the heartiest meal I had in Taipei.

Have A Lovely Day!

  10. I'm so intrigued with Taiwan! I also heard from some friends that it's the new go-to-country for good food. And this blog post just reaffirmed what they say about some Taiwan food places there: hole-in-the-wall but they serve the best dishes. Intimidating lang because most menus are in Chinese languages. Pictures beside the photos would help but I guess they wouldn't fuss about that, given that their food is already great.
