Tao Yuan Hotpot at Malate, Manila

We're back to my dining for 2 restaurant posts! One bright morning, the companion and I decided to have a hearty hotpot soup for brunch. Since we didn't want to drive far, we went to Tao Yuan Malate to have it. Take a look at what 2 people can finish in one sitting! You'd be amazed!

I love that they offer fried garlic in their sauces. I don't really like raw as it leaves a very strong and long taste in the mouth. So my choices for my dipping sauce were a tablespoon of fried garlic with lots and lots of green onions.

For our Shabu-Shabu we got the following:

LIVE SUAHE P380

PORK MEAT BALL P198

SLICED IMPORTED FAT BEEF P268

JAPANESE MUSHROOM P118

FRIED TARO P128

HAND MADE BEEF BALL P168

You can see how fresh the meat is. It's not the frozen type.

We also got additional things from the Dim Sum Menu:

BEANCURD ROLL W/ SUPERIOR SAUCE P108

For me, it's my favorite!

TARO PUFF P108

For him, it's his favorite.

By the way, we got Double Soup in Pot P238 for our soup broth. We spent over 2k for our hotpot meal. It's a bit pricey compared to just eating at King One where the spread in unlimited and you can even get free hot dishes for only P650 a pop. But the thing is, there is a difference between the quality of food that you are getting. In Tao Yuan, you can taste the freshness of the meatballs and the shrimps we got were even moving on the barbeque stick! So we are definitely fine for paying extra here at Tao Yuan.

Have A Lovely Day!

    1. Hmmm... The companion varies. It can be the boyfriend or it can be one of the girl friends :D
