Modern Shanghai in SM Mall of Asia

After helping my baby sister set up her booth at The Time Square Fashion Bazaar located at SMX Convention Hall 4 last Feb 9, my mom and I walked all the way to SM Mall of Asia to try this newly opened Modern Shanghai Restaurant. The vibe of the restaurant was very Lugang Cafe and the menu was quite similar to it as well. Let's see if the food was any good...

Our orders:

The carafe of water they served has slices of lemons and cucumbers. There was no need to order drinks as this was quite refreshing!

OUR "SIGNATURE" XIAO LONG BAO P198

I like their Xiao Long Baos. It was filled with meat and had a nice amount of liquid you can slurp inside the dumpling. As for the taste, I guess it was pretty good. Same as the Xiao Long Baos from Lugang Cafe.

"YANG CHOW" FRIED RICE P228

Normal tasty fried rice.

SAUTEED RIVER SHRIMPS WITH SPRING ONIONS P248

Plump shrimps were used. Another good dish to order.

SAUTEED STRING BEANS WITH MINCED PORK & CHILI P188

Some of the String Beans still had strings on the sides which annoyed me a bit but the meaty savory taste that I like was there. I would definitely order this again on my next visit!

Overall, we liked the restaurant. The prices are fairly cheap and the serving size of the dishes are pretty big enough for 2 people. We don't need to go all the way to Greenhills just to eat at Lugang Cafe because Modern Shanghai can be a great substitute for that.

While my sister was manning her booth, I went to the stage area to listen to cool music sang by these DLSU kids.

Have A Lovely Day!
