House Honors Banquet

We celebrated Baby Arian's first birthday or toh-tse at House Honors Banquet Chinese Restaurant located in Rongyi Hotel. It was a simple dinner party because we couldn't really find any clowns or magicians in China to make it more like a children's party. All we could do was get some party decors and make cute loot bags for guests to take home. My sister's husband took care of the dinner menu and he got a lot of EXOTIC dishes for us to dine on.

I really like the interior of the place.

We taped colorful balloons on the wall and tied Hello Kitty balloons on chairs.

The fancy table setting.

Drinks:

CHANGYU RED WINE, GRASS JELLY DRINK, AND COCONUT DRINK

Appetizers:

PICKLED SPICY VEGETABLE AND FRIED ANCHOVIES

I was not able to try this so I have no clue what that is. :D

SPICY WOOD EAR MUSHROOM

Party Food:

 LECHON MACAU AND SHARK MEAT

The shark meat did NOT taste like chicken. It tasted like Gindara with a even firmer texture. It was quite yummy.

BRAISED ABALONE AND MUSHROOMS WITH BROCCOLI

My favorite dish of the night just because I love abalone. It was cooked to perfection.

SHARK'S FIN SOUP

Lots of shark's fin was put in the soup.

BIRTHDAY NOODLES

It has oysters in it which added a different taste to the typical birthday noodle dish. Guests liked it so much almost everyone had seconds.

FREAKY LOOKING CRAB

Everyone was served one personal crab each. This tasted like a Talangka or River Crab. Not a lot of crab meat can be eaten from this. I guess not all enjoyed this entree because of the crab's creepy eyes looking at us while we mutilate it's body.

This is the roe found inside the crab. Pretty hair-raising noh?!

GOAT STEW

The meat had this rich gamey taste to it. I find it ok but the grown ups didn't like it. They find the gamey taste as "mabaho" ( smelly ) . lol

STEAMED FISH IN SOYA SAUCE

I don't actually know what kind of fish that is but it did not have a lot of bones so it was easy to eat it.

 SAUTEED CRAYFISH WITH ENOKI MUSHROOMS

I just had a small taste of the crayfish because I was full when this dish was served.

Baby Arian's birthday cake from BreadTalk. It was delicious!

Party Favors.

While everyone was eating, the baby became agitated so the good aunt ( THAT'S ME! ) took her out for a walk.

She kept on walking and walking like an Energizer Bunny.

Of course all the people we passed by stopped us to play with Arian and tell her how adorable she is.

Have A Lovely Day!
