Za's Restaurant & Coffee Shop and Hizon's Bakeshop at Ermita, Manila

Good morning everyone! How are you guys today? I'm actually taking a break from work and hopefully I can keep on blogging everyday! So, one Saturday family lunch, we all went to Za's Restaurant and Coffee Shop. This place brings back childhood memories. We have frequented this restaurant when we were younger. The food they serve are kinda like "lutong-bahay". Nothing fancy but they surely are comfortingly good.

We feasted on the following:

COMPLIMENTARY FRESHLY BAKED SUPER DUPER SOFT PANDESAL

ICED TEA P70

This is definitely not the powder type of iced tea. I think they brewed this fresh? Because it tasted something like that.

SOUP OF THE DAY: CREAM OF MUSHROOM SOUP P95

A bit salty for our liking. The soup tasted more like a meat gravy...

GRILLED PORK CHOPS WITH APPLE SAUCE P350

For our entries, we all ordered the house specialties. The grilled pork chop as expected was overcooked but it was pretty tasty.

POT ROAST BEEF STEW P375

We all loved this. The meat was tender and the mashed potato was perfect.

SPAGHETTI

Audrey had this. She didn't like it that much.

BRAISED OX TONGUE PIQUANTE P420

The lengua was super tender. It tasted exactly like the pot roast beef stew but the only difference was the texture of the meat. The ox tongue was more tender. My mom ordered rice with this and I ate one of the two pieces because my order was not good.

GRILLED SALMON STEAK WITH LEMON BUTTER SAUCE P450

This was my order. The salmon steak tasted frozen and there was a lot of fish BONES!!! Natinik pa ako! (-_-)

Mi familia

This is the famous Hizon's Bakeshop.

We were in bread heaven...

The cake we always have whenever someone is celebrating his/her birthday. The cake is not too sweet so the grown ups request for it.

Have A Lovely Day!
