Saboten at Serendra, Fort Bonifacio

One quiet Saturday night, my sister called to have dinner with me. She also wanted to take her kids to Fully Book to get brand new books and coloring materials. I quickly suggested we go to Serendra because I was super eager to try the newly opened Saboten here in Manila. We got there around 7 pm and good thing there was no line.

We ordered the following:

COMPLIMENTARY APPETIZERS: PICKLED RADISH AND PICKLED CUCUMBER

The radish and cucumber tasted very crunchy and very fresh. They surely whetted our appetite.

FRESH MELON AND YAKULT P115

My sister and I shared this. Very refreshing though it could use some more melons? It tasted a bit watered down.

RIPE MANGO AND PASSION FRUIT P115

Audrey drank and was able to finished it all by herself. You can definitely taste the sweet mangoes contrasting with the sour passion fruit. Very nice.

COMPLIMENTARY CABBAGE SALAD

We had like 3 rounds of this.

SHRIMP AND CHICKEN SET P475

Two deep-fried shrimp and one chicken cutlet. The shrimps were HUGE! My sister said the chicken cutlet was not bad either. Both were fried to perfection without any oily taste.

MISO KATSU TENDERLOIN SET P425

One huge deep-fried pork tenderloin with miso sauce. Audrey and Arian were supposed to share this but Audrey didn't like the taste of miso so I gave some of my katsudon to her. The miso was not salty but rather it had this peculiar distinct taste that one would appreciate or one would simply not like at all.

CLAY POT TENDERLOIN SET P425

Tonkatsu served with special sauce in a clay pot. The yayas and I all ordered this set each. And believe me when I tell you the serving size is really big. I mean this alone can feed 2 people ( not super hungry ) but we were all able to finished ours. The meat was super tender. There was no fat content at all. I love the sauce was not too sweet. It was a perfect dish for me.

After dinner, the kids and I walked around first to get some desserts from different nearby shops which I'll be posting next. When our tummies were all stuffed silly to the point that we cannot breathe anymore, we went to Fully Book to get new books and sit down after. I love hanging out with these kulit kids!

Have A Lovely Day!

  1. Which reminds me, Yabu also released their Miso Katsu and well, I must say it's not for everyone.

I'm afraid to try Saboten in the Philippines because its quality might not be the same in HK or Singapore. But looking at your review, I'll give it a try one of these days. :)

    1. I actually ate at Saboten before I left Hong Kong during my recent trip. Uhmm... ok naman. I mean the Saboten here in Manila was pretty close tasting as in Hong Kong. For me pareho lang lasa nila ng Yabu. hahaha

    1. Believe me the serving size is big enough. Unlimited rice and salad and soup and the pickled veggie appetizers = BUSOG!
