Watami Japanese Casual Dining at SM Mall of Asia

One Saturday night, the Xiamen girl friends and I had dinner out. We were supposed to have dinner at Tajimaya but since we didn't have any reservation because we thought we didn't need one, the restaurant wouldn't let us in (-_-). So we settled for Watami Japanese Casual Dining, the restaurant beside Tajimaya. Some of girls haven't tried it before but heard good reviews about the place.

Our orders:

SPECIAL ASSORTED IRODORI SUSHI P455

Didn't taste super fresh to us. TOO MUCH RICE!

SHRIMP TEMPURA P375

Pretty good but it had too much batter.

BEEF & SPRING ONION ROLL SKEWER P195

Very tasty. Do order this.

DELUXE FATTY SALMON SASHIMI P305

This was M's special request since she was craving for sashimi. It was ok.

PORK RICE WITH EGG YOKE IN STONE POT P295

The pork was full of fat. I didn't like this dish at all. We also got the Pepper Beef Rice in Stone Pot P245 which was good. Next time, we'll just stick to ordering that alone.

PORK & ENOKI MUSHROOM SKEWER P175

You only get 2 sticks per order. It was tasty and a good amount of Enoki Mushrooms were included.

SELF-GRILLED SHORT RIBS P375

Everyone's favorite dish of the night. The beef was super tender. Everyone ate this with rice.

CHAWANMUSHI

Hersh and M both got an order of Chawanmushi. They said it tasted bland and that it was watered down.

CHICKEN TIGHT SKEWER P145

You also get 2 sticks per order. They all liked this one. The girls said the meat was moist and tender.

BEEF SUKIYAKI P425

Very good and the waitstaff even gave us extra soup.

The Xiamen Gang.

Overall, the food was good but not really great. The service was the same as before, it was BAD! Our food orders arrived one by one with 5 or 10 minutes interval. Asking for napkins or water was super hard. The place was not even packed that night.

After dinner, we walked around the bay area.

Did you know MOA already has Mercato Centrale???!

Got a cup of Coffee flavored Ice Cream from Mio Gelati.

Have A Lovely Day!
