Antonio's Restaurant, Tagaytay City

I was not expecting to come here.

I was definitely not dressed for this fancy place ( pai-seh ).

The companion surprised me and brought us here for a beautiful lunch.

That weird stranger took a photo of me so I took a photo of him too!

Going down to the fine dining area.

We had a carafe of fresh dalandan juice for P600.

I think this might be wheat bread. Tasted just ok..

Antonio's Set-menu includes House Salad, Soup of the Day, Dessert and Coffee or Tea.

Our Salad:

ANTONIO'S ORGANIC MESCLUN SALAD, BLEU d' AUVEGNE CRUMBLED, GLAZED WALNUTS, DRIED CURRANTS & CRANBERRIES W/ RASPBERRY VINAIGRETTE, DRIZZLED W/ BASIL OIL

FOIE GRAS POTATO TRUFFLE TEMPURA P550

The companion got this instead of the House Salad for an additional fee. They put in a good amount of Foie Gras for us to enjoy.

Our Soup:

MUSHROOM CAPPUCCINO

Everyone had this because there were no other choices. But that was alright. This was a good soup.

Our Entree:

DOVER SOLE STUDDED W/ HERBED CLOUTES, FRIED GNOCCHI, MEUNIERE SAUCE P1,450

For our entrees, since we have a reservation that night at Tagaytay Highlands Steakhouse, everyone made a conscious effort to order seafoods for lunch. Auntie Christine said the fish was a bit dry. It was a bit salty too.

PANFRIED PANCETTA WRAPPED CHILEAN SEABASS ON SHRIMP SAFFRON RISOTTO, KAFFIR TOMATO COULIS P1,700

This was fantastic! I loved the fish and it was perfectly cooked. The risotto was out of this world.

CORIANDER GNOCCHI POTATO

The companion ordered this extra side dish for me because he knows how much I love Gnocchi. It was delicious!

PRAWN AND SCALLOP THERMIDOR P1700

This was the companion's order. I tasted a couple of scallops and they were perfect. As of the prawns, I find the taste too ocean-y? If there is such a term. LOL. After chewing a piece of it, it had an after taste of ocean water stuck at the back of my throat. I'm thinking maybe the prawns were undercooked? Or that I just prefer over cooked prawns?

Our dessert:

Both of them got coffee while I had a pot of Tarragon tea.

CHOCOLATE POTATO CHIPS W/ MANGO COULLIS

We shared all the desserts but I ended up finishing them all! This was NOT good. The chips were chewy and not crunchy at all. It had a weird texture.

PANNA COTTA SAMPLER

Actually, both auntie and companion were full to the max after finishing their entrees so they didn't really want any dessert at all. I was able to finished this in 3 bites ( because they were bite sized small ). I loved the middle coffee flavored Panna Cotta best.

FELCHLIN MARACAIBO CHOCOLATE TERRINE W/ DOUBLE CREAM & ROASTED PISTACHIO

This was the best of the best! My most favorite dish out of all we had for lunch. The chocolate was so smooth it just slides down your throat. WOW!

Service was great. Ambiance was great. Antonio's is truly a wonderful restaurant you definitely have to try if you want to splurge to celebrate something , to impress someone, or to just simply have great food to share with great company.

Have A Lovely Day!

    1. Hi Wyatt! Yup I believe that was mint leaves in our juice. They also used frozen dalandan ice cubes so that our juice wouldnt taste watery when the ice melts. Mizuna leaves... I'm not really good at naming salad leaves :D Maybe it was Mizuna :D
