Denny's, Los Angeles

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. 

I've recently watched Magic Mike the movie and Brooke said she loves breakfast food. Which made me recall the breakfast diners I've eaten when I was in USA. Americans truly love breakfast so much they have tons of breakfast places such as IHOP, Denny's and others.

Let me show you what we had at Denny's.

 

The reception area.

The interior looks like typical American diner. Feels very homey. Very relaxing. Very nice.

What we ordered:

ZESTY NACHOS $8.29

Crisp tortilla chips topped with cheese sauce, shredded Cheddar cheese, specially seasoned ground beef, freshly made pico de gallo and sour cream. This was absolutely heaven! My sister and I dipped and double dipped our chips in that cheesy sauce.

PHILLY CHEESESTEAK OMELETTE $7.99

Three-egg omelette with grilled prime rib, fire-roasted peppers and onions, sauteed mushrooms and melted Swiss cheese. Served with hash browns and choice of bread. This was I think my dad's order. I tasted this and it was very good. I could taste the freshness of the produce used.

RED, WHITE & BLUE PANCAKES BREAKFAST $6.99

Two buttermilk pancakes made with blueberries topped with sliced fresh strawberries, cream cheese icing and whipped cream. Served with two eggs cooked to order, hash browns, and two strips of bacon. I was too full to taste this but they finished everything so I guess this was also a good order.

As for the pancakes, I was able to "taste" HALF of the plate. The pancakes were made from scratch and the berries were extremely sweet that I didn't even bother to put syrup on it.

SLOW-COOKED POT ROAST $9.99

Slow-cooked pot roast, creamy mashed potatoes and herb-roasted carrots, celery, mushrooms and onions atop grilled ciabatta bread covered in rich gravy. While everyone ordered breakfast items, I ordered this. I know Denny's is just a simple restaurant but the quality of the food, like this pot roast for example was fancy restaurant quality. The meat has a melt-in-your-mouth texture.

STRAWBERRY PANCAKE PUPPIES WITH CREAM CHEESE ICING $1.99

For dessert, my sister and I shared those famous Puppies! Six fried bite-sized round pancakes made with strawberry and white chocolate chips. Our first time to taste fried pancakes and they were delish!
