According to locals ( those would be our tourist guide and another was the bellboy from our hotel ), those would be sourdough bread and seafood. The best local restaurant for those is none other than Scoma's says both persons as well. Scoma's is not like other seafood restaurants such as Alioto's where it is in a visible location. Scoma's on the other hand is tucked in someplace confusing to go to we had to ask for directions 3 times. After 20 minutes of searching we found the restaurant. HORAAY!!!
The table bread of sourdough slices were truly SOUR ( Duh to me! ). I had to put tons of butter to neutralize the sourness. The bread itself was crusty on the outside and chewy on the inside. The texture of the bread was pretty good.
I started my meal with a tall glass of non-alcoholic Strawberry Daiquiri $4.00+.
Chowder Bowl was wonderful! Full of plump clams swimming in thick creamy soup.
Seafood Salad. Huge shelled Dungeness Crabs and big lumps of sweet Lobster topped the freshest salad. I KID YOU NOT!
My personal order of Lobster Ravioli. I got two words for this dish. ABSOLUTELY HEAVEN!
Hot Sampler Trio. Calamari Fritti, Rock Shrimp Scampi, and Crabcakes.
The best shocker of the night was the bill. It wasn't the total but rather what was written down below. They wrote the tip they wanted to get. We ARE conscious that the standard tip in US is 10 percent of the net bill. We know we should leave at least $10 tip for our meal but we just felt they didn't have to implicitly tell us by writing it down. Anyway the wait staff gave us a good experience so we were more than happy to leave a $20 for it.

OMG~~ lobster ravioli....indeed heaven!!I've only tried lobster ravioli once during my trip in SG way back years...They did the receipt thing only to tourist or foreigners because some of the tourist/foreigners are not aware of the service charge rule thus they wrote it down. But for me, I still think its quite "rude" in a way to write it just like that...
ReplyDeletehahaha yeah.. maybe we want to give more tip pero since sinulat niya na ung gusto niyang tip sayang hindi na namin siya bibigyan ng mas marami! lol! :D
