Ang Bistro sa Remedios at Malate, Manila

Twas the night before my Achi and her entire family left for China. For their last meal in Manila, they asked for authentic Filipino food. They also requested a restaurant near our place because they still had a lot of things to pack ( they like to procrastinate! ). Ang Bistro sa Remedios solved all of those requirements!

A lot of relatives came to the despidida party so we ordered a LOT.

Here are the orders:

CRISPY CRABLETS P120

Cultured little crabs deep-fried and served with a spicy sauce.

PINIRITONG HITO P205

Deep-fried freshwater catfish served with balo balo and fresh mustard leaves.

PUSIT ADOBO IN SU TINTA P350

Sauteed squid with vinegar and spices.

KARE KARENG BUNTOT BAKA P495

Oxtail stewed in peanut sauce with assorted vegetables.

BULALO SOUP P330

A country dish made of boiled beef shank and vegetable.

MUNGGO NA MAY CHICHARON AT TINAPA P95

Green native munggo bean soup with chili leaves and pork crackling topping.

SISIG PAMPABATA P190

Popular Capampangan dish of minced pork head meat, chicken liver, sauteed in garlic & chilies.

KNOCKOUT KNUCKLES P545

A whole leg of pork deep-fried in garlic and chilies.

PAKBET CAPAMPANGAN P220

A variety of fresh garden vegetables simmered with shrimp paste and bangus meat.

GISING GISING P178

Chili spiced minced stalk of kangkong in coconut cream.

BINUKADKAD NA CRISPY PLA PLA P365

Butterflied fried Pla Pla fish served with balo balo and fresh mustard leaves.

PAKO AT ITLOG NA MAALAT P129

Young rainforest fern with salted egg in a light salad dressing.

TIDTAD P225

Pampanga version of Dinuguan - a variety of meats in pork blood sauce. My personal favorite.

MANGO JUBILEE P150

Vanilla ice cream topped with  flambeed mango balls.

MINATAMIS NA SAGING P150

Sweetened banana saba. They asked to separate the ice because they didn't want to risk getting any sickness just in case the ice was not filtered properly.

Everything tasted great as usual. Everyone was satisfied. My sister and her family left Manila happy.

Have A Lovely Day!
